The precautionary suspension followed a court appearance on alleged breaches of public-finance law.
Other senior officers have faced allegations including fraud, corruption and money laundering in the wider matter. The case puts procurement controls inside a law-enforcement institution under unusual scrutiny and raises questions about oversight where operational and accounting responsibilities overlap.
All charges remain allegations unless proven in court. A suspension is an administrative measure and does not establish criminal guilt.
